Abstract:

This course provides an in-depth exploration of non-surgical periodontal therapy (NST) as the gold standard for managing gingival, periodontal, and peri-implant diseases. It outlines the theoretical foundations and clinical principles essential for accurate diagnosis, prevention, and treatment in daily practice. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of disease etiology, screening protocols, therapeutic strategies, adjunctive treatments, and expected clinical outcomes. The hands-on workshop further enhances practical skills by focusing on guided biofilm therapy using the EMS system and the clinical application of piezoelectric debridement, equipping clinicians with the knowledge and techniques required for effective patient management.

Learning Objectives:

After the lecture and hands-on training the participants are expected to understand the fundamentals of periodontal and peri-implant diagnostics, preventive and treatment strategies for gingival, periodontal and peri-implant non-surgical treatment (NST) and be able to understand the clinical techniques required for daily clinical practice. The specific objectives are to understand:
